Stakeholders of New Nigeria Peoples Party in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State, on Monday passed vote of no confidence in the acting Chairman of the party, Rambi Ayala, urging the National body to remove him.

Our correspondent reports that the stakeholders include seven NNPP ward chairmen out of 10 wards in the LGA.

Ayala’s offence among others is the constitution of Yila Dankuka’s executive without recourse to one chaired by Ambrose Mairungu.

Spokesperson of the stakeholders, Amatiga Yila, noted that Ayala has a track record of destroying political parties, recalling his stay in Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress.

Amatiga called on the national body to rescue the party from sabotage, adding that they laboured for the current rating of the political party.

He said, “We view the purported meeting convened at the residence of Hon. Hamma Abubakar Tanimu on 28th February 2024 as inciting, rapacious, a calculated attempt, at instigating crisis & division within our dear party.

“No one can instigate any meeting purporting to deliberate on our party’s affairs without the consent of our local government council Chairman Elder Ambrose Mairungu and his executives. We reject, discountenance whatsoever decisions, observations or Agendas made at that illegal gathering and resolutely declare same as null, void and of no effect – We do not and will never recognise any person in the name of Hon Yila Dankuka, who is unknown and not a registered member of our party as an LG Executive member in whatever capacity.

“We resist it, and ask the security agencies to take note of any such impostor purporting to masquerade as an NNPP Executive member Billiri LGC

“We have also unfortunately, observed the tendencies of our purported State Acting Chairman Hon. Rambi Ayala, who is a known destroyer, Anti-party agent, who exited PDP in crisis, exited APC in
crisis.”

Also, Former Gombe State Secretary of NNPP, Amuga Barde, described Ayala as caretaker, saying they won’t allow him destroy the party.

He said, “Rambi Ayala, came from somewhere and we welcomed him now he is using the acting capacity to destroy the party. They (party) should stop him from being acting Chairman.”

Reacting during a telephone interview with journalists Ayala, decried the accusation of attempt to destroy the party, describing his accusers as jokers.

Ayala said, “If there are people like that they are jokers. NNPP is strong, united and the opposition is jittery. It’s unthinkable for anyone to think I can do anything of such (destroy the party). We have just fulfilled article 30 of our constitution we are ready, We have just filled some positions across the 114 wards of Gombe State and 11 Local Government Areas.”

While boosting about the strength of the party to undertake elective positions, Ayala added “If election is conducted in a free and fair election we will see the outcome.”
