Nigerian Assistant Professor, Uju Anya, at Pennsylvania State University caused a buzz online by announcing her engagement to her lesbian partner.
Recall that two days ago Russian President Vladimir Putin outlawed lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning persons or the community, describing it as extremism.

She became prominent after her utterances on the demise of late Queen of England, Elizabeth, which many frown at describing it as cruel.
Anya shared a video of the proposal on X, revealing that she was surprised by the romantic gesture in front of their children.
She explained that she was duped into thinking they were going to a friend’s party before the proposal happened.
Grateful for the support, she pledged to post clearer images of the engagement soon.
“Y’all. She said we were going to Summer Lee’s party. I arrived to pick her up and had the most delicious shock. She colluded with folks, people flew in, and we were surrounded by love. In front of our children and dear friends, Sirry Alang asked me to be her wife. And I said yes.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you extending your congratulations and well wishes! I promise clear pictures are coming at some point,” Anya wrote.
