Following the commencement of Ramadan as declared by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Nigerian Bar Association Gombe has enjoined members to pray for the country to triumph.
This was contained in a press statement issued on Sunday night by the Chairman, Barrister Benjamin Sati, who decried the economic challenges the country is faced with.
He said, “Distinguished Colleagues, Ramadan fast commences tomorrow by the special grace of God. This time around Nigeria needs prayer and fasting by all of us. Nigeria is in serious economic dilemma, financial quagmire and phantasmagoria.”
While lamenting the economic challenges of the country Sati called on all to join suit to intercede for the progress of Nigeria, “We all need to join our Muslim brothers on the first day tomorrow to commit ourselves and country to God for his intervention,” he added.
Sati’s statement added, “We all need purging and cleansing.
We all need to amend our ways and mindset to make Nigeria better.
Nigeria’s security and unity is threatened by tremendous hunger tormenting both the haves and the haves not. May the fasting and prayers to be offered throughout this season through the mercy of God be accepted. I wish all the Muslim faithfuls a hitch-free fasting season and eid el Fitri ahead. May Nigeria succeed!”
