Gombe State is set to host the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, on Monday, as he gears to launch the outsource to Nigeria initiative and commission the business process outsourcing centre.
The BPO centre, the first in the North-East sub-region and the biggest of its kind in Nigeria, is set to provide not less than 2,000 job opportunities to the vibrant and talented youth population of Gombe State.
With the centre now established in Gombe, located at the Amina Mohammed Skills Acquisition Centre along Gombe-Biu Bypass, the state is poised to become a hub for outsourcing services, leveraging the skills and potential of its youths.
According to a press statement issued on Saturday by Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Misilli, on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, OTNI is a catalyst for change in the business process and technology-enabled outsourcing sector, and the fastest route to job security for the teeming youths in Gombe State and Nigeria at large.
The statement disclosed that by keying into this initiative, the Yahaya-led has further demonstrated its commitment to providing sustainable employment opportunities and empowering the youths to contribute meaningfully to the state’s development and progress.
“Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya extends his sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, for his support and commitment to the economic development of Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole, as he looks forward to receiving the VP and other guests. The initiative will create 2,000 job opportunities for the vibrant and talented youth population of Gombe State,” the statement partly read.
