The United Kingdom has criticised Russia, stating that the election was not conducted in a manner that was considered free and fair.
Recall that the 71-year-old Russian leader was reelected for a fifth term as President.
Observers claim Putin’s emergence about 21 years ago was a lot free and fair, following citizens’ confidence in him.
Britain’s Foreign Minister, David Cameron, rejected the initial results from Russia suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has won reelection with ease.
“The polls have closed in Russia, following the illegal holding of elections on Ukrainian territory, a lack of choice for voters and no independent OSCE monitoring.
“This is not what free and fair elections look like,” he said.
