French President Emmanuel Macron, has decided not to send a message of congratulations to Russian President Putin following his resounding re-election victory.
In an interview, Macron expressed his concern that it is not appropriate to offer congratulations for an election that has been marked by the loss of those who fought for pluralism in Russia.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that on Sunday Putin won his fifth term as President of Russia.
The 71-year-old leader was alleged to have emerged in a poll devoid of freedom of electorate, as many critics including the United Kingdom said it was not free and fair but one that was marred by protests.
