The Borno government just approved a N7.9 billion contract to build a third flyover at West-End Roundabout in Maiduguri city.
The contract for the project has been granted to a construction firm based in China, known as Eighteen Engineering Company, EEC.
During the contract signing on Monday in Maiduguri, Mustapha Gubio, who is the Commissioner for Works, made this statement.
He mentioned that the project aims to reduce the traffic jams and make it easier to get around Maiduguri city.
He also noted that this would be the third flyover built by the Governor. Mr Gubio explained that EEC company was awarded the contract because of their history of following proper procedures.

Kudos to his Excellency, but I will like to call on his Excellency professor Babagana Umara Zullum but not only focus on constructing flyovers. The street (build-up) area need to be rehabilitate, which I believe it will help more in easing the congestion than the flyover. There are some areas that needs drainage to ease their suffering against yearly flooding meditation.
