The Coach of Gombe United, Haruna Abdullahi, has denied insinuations that his team sold its previous match following the performance.
Abdullahi made this disclosure after United’s 3-2 win against Lobi Stars at Pantami Township Stadium on Sunday.


According to him, administrative and management problem were part of the team’s challenges, adding that Gombe United is well built for utmost performance.
Our correspondent reports that Gombe United’s E. Michael scored at the 23rd minute, supported by A. Ogbonna who scored two goals at 74th and 82nd minutes, while S. Oganbor net in the ball at the 90th minute bringing the match to 3-2.
The Gaffer who expressed happiness at the boys performance said, “I feel very happy about it. People thought our team is not good. It is not just about the team but the other side of the game. Administrative and management problems hinder the team from progress.”
Abdullahi added, “We won to protect our integrity whether we will be relegated or not. The last match we played, some are of the opinion that we sold the match. We played for the pride of the club.
We will do our best to see that we beat them.”

On its possible relegation Abdullahi said Gombe United would continue to do its best barring the outcome of the Nigeria Premier Football League rating,
“Notwithstanding on being on relegation or not, we are team Gombe. Let us support Gombe United and God willing, we will return to the premier league,” he said.
Abdullahi added, “It is all about determination. Our players were determined to win the game for the pride of the team and they did.”
