The Brobrisky Saga has called to question the vagaries of our criminal justice system. It reverberates our call for the check on the discretion of Judicial Officers which could be abused. It is apposite for the Nigerian Judicial System to have a symmetry in the sentencing process.

How can two judges have two different outcomes over the same crime? We call for an elevation of the sentencing guidelines to a Sentencing Act and Sentencing Edicts that will bound our Judicial Officers. There is an ethical void in the Judgements of the two Judges who presided over the Bobrisky’s Case and the actress case respectively.
We need to build strong institutions and not strong men. Anyone can be a victim of a warped Judicial System. What is sauce to goose is sauce for the gander.
