Former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, has visited Gombe State.
The former Nigerian leader was in Gombe to commiserate with Major General Abdulrasheed Aliyu, his former Chief Security Officer, over the loss of his father, Alhaji Muhammadu Aliyu.
He extended his condolences to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III over the demise of the elder statesman.

The statement disclosed that during his visit to the Emir at his Palace, Abdussalami lauded the harmonious co-existence in Gombe and praised the developmental strides under the stewardship of Yahaya.
At the Presidential Lodge, Yahaya presented a plaque as a token of gratitude for Abdussalami’s visit.
The Governor was in company of his Deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, Chief of Staff, Government House, Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Commissioners and other top government functionaries.
