Gombe State Government has extended public holidays from Tuesday, Wednesday to Thursday and Friday.
Disclosing this in a press statement obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA, Jibrin Yusuf who conveyed the Head of Civil Service Ahmed Abdullahi, message said it was in a bid to allow Muslim ummah to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with their counterparts.
Recall that the Federal Government through the Minister of Interior Dr Bunni Tunji-Ojo had added Thursday as public holiday to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, following the extension of fast to Tuesday.
The statement partly read, “I am directed to inform you that the Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, (Dan Majen Gombe ) has approved the extension of the Public Holiday to Thursday 11th and Friday 12th April, 2024 to enable Civil Servants in the State continue with the Celebration of this year’s Eid el-fitr along with their counterparts nationwide.”
While wishing all workers peaceful celebration Head of Civil Service noted that “all essential services would be maintained throughout the Public Holiday and Workers will resume their normal duty on Monday 15th April, 2024,” he added.
