The Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barrister Henry Danjuma, has been appointed to lead the committee to investigate financial transactions, loans, grants, and project progress in Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023 under the previous administration of Nasiru El-Rufai.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the committee has been tasked with examining financial transactions, loans, grants, and project execution in El-Rufai’s administration between the years 2015 and 2023.
The assembly in a plenary held on Tuesday, tasked the committee to investigate El-Rufai’s top associates and senior counselor on investment, Jimi Lawal; former speakers of the 8th and 9th Assembly, commissioners of finance, former managing directors of Kaduna markets and commissioners of budget and planning, among others.
The probe panel followed recent alarm raised by Governor Uba Sani that the immediate-past administration of El-Rufia left a huge debt burden, “eating deep into the state’s federal allocation.”
