The National Youth Service Corps on Monday said no fewer than 1968 Prospective Corps Members are expected ahead of 2024 Batch “A” Stream II orientation course.
Our correspondent reports that the course will commence from Wednesday, 17th April to Tuesday, 7th May, 2024.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Jennifer Laha, Head, Public Relations Unit on behalf of the Gombe State Coordinator of NYSC Chinwe Nwachukwu.
The statement partly read, “In Gombe State, the programme is scheduled to take place at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Government Science Technical College, Amada, Akko LGA and a total of 1968 Prospective Corps Members are deployed to the State.
The Formal opening / Swearing – in ceremony will hold on Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024 at 10:00am. The Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, is expected to preside over the event, while the Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed will administer the Oath of Allegiance on the Corps Members deployed to the State for national service.”
While urging for support from residents especially locals, the statement added, “We therefore, enjoin the peace loving people of Gombe State especially those around Akko LGA and environs to accord the Corps Members the usual hospitality and peaceful coexistence that Gombe State is known for.”
