CAN loses six women members to car accident in Taraba, Gov Kefas mourns

It was reported that six members of the Women’s Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Taraba State lost their lives in a car accident.

The accident occurred as they were returning from the Women’s Wing CAN Conference which took place in Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area of the state on May 18th, 2024.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas, on Media and Digital Communications, Governor Kefas expressed his deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as a black Sunday for the state.

He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and assured of providing the people with safer roads.

The statement revealed that the governor has directed local government chairmen to ensure proper maintenance of existing roads, including traffic controls, drainages, and basic repairs, to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Kefas also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the CAN leadership, WOWICAN, and the entire Christian community in the state and the country at large.
