FCTA allocates N6.32 billion for payment of teachers’ pension

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has allocated a total of N6.32 billion to the six area councils, teachers, and pension scheme as their statutory share for the month of March.

Dr Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the FCT, shared this information during her leadership of the 188th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) in Abuja on Thursday.

She said “the amount represents a 40 per cent increase compared with the N3.94 billion disbursed in February.”

During the meeting, it was revealed that N3.81 billion was allocated to the six area councils, with N2.50 billion designated for teachers and the pension scheme.

Among the total sum of N3.81 billion, Abuja Municipal Area Council was allocated N796.99 million, Gwagwalada Area Council received N606.67 million, and Kuje Area Council received N635.90 million.

In addition, the data indicates that Bwari Area Council was allocated N598.41 million, Abaji received N564.90 million, and Kwali Area Council was granted N611.18 million.
