…enjoins family of take solace in God
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, was earlier at the family compound of the Modi’s in Karel of Shongom Local Government Area to attend the the committal service of the Late Baba Dodo Shelpidi, the father to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Sports and Youth Development Mr Modi Shelpidi.





Represented by the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, the governor enjoined the family of the deceased to take solace in the fact that death is an unavailable end that every mortal must taste.
Governor Yahaya said, “from God we came and to Him shall we return at some point in time.”
He, however, prayed God to comfort the entire family of the deceased stressing that the community must come together in and prayers and solidarity with the Modi family even as they grief their departed father.





Yahaya used the solemn ceremony to appeal to Nigerians not to despair in the current economic woes but to remain hopeful and resolute in the possibility of a better and prosperous Nigeria.
He equally enjoined the Shongom community and the entire state to brace up for the forthcoming rainy season by consciously engaging in agricultural activities.
In a remark, a son of the deceased Modi Shelpidi, expressed gratitude to Yahaya for standing in solidarity with his family in their moment of grief.
Shelpidi who is the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, also thanked friends well-wishers and the entire Shongom community for their support and encouragement while his father lie ill in the hospital.
He recalled with nostalgia how his father made landmark sacrifices to ensure their physical development, saying his departure would be greatly missed.
Yahaya was accompanied to committal service by the commissioner for Sports and Youth Development as well as other senior government officials.
