The Gombe State Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Aishatu Maigari, has lauded the North-East Development Commission for its unwavering dedication to educational development in the state.


Maigari stated that after she received keys of one block of three classrooms constructed by the NEDC and other essential materials to Doho primary school in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.
According to the Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji Adamu Umaru, said “the successful completion of the construction project for one block of three classrooms, along with the provision of essential materials, initiated by the North East Development Commission will enhance the quality of education in the area.”
She noted that the gesture is in line with Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya’s vision towards improving the quality standard of education in the state and represent a significant step forward in collective efforts to improve educational infrastructure and ensure a conducive learning environment for the students.
Maigari added, “the classrooms are designed to be spacious, well-ventilated, and adequately lit, creating a comfortable and conducive environment for teaching and learning.”
The Commissioner, therefore, called on teachers as well as the stakeholders in the community to make proper use of the building and to ensure all the out-of-school children are enrolled back to school.
Earlier, the acting state Coordinator of the NEDC Alhaji Rufa’i Lawan Baba-Manu said the construction project for one block of three classrooms was undertaken in response to the growing need for additional educational facilities in the area being that Kwami LGA is in the forefront of out-of-school children in Gombe State.
He said, “the new block was strategically designed and built to accommodate the increasing student population and provide a conducive space for learning and teaching.”
Baba-Manu further stated that, the classrooms are equipped with modern facilities, including ergonomic furniture, interactive whiteboards, to support innovative teaching methods and interactive learning experiences.
The acting state Coordinator assured of the commission’s continued support to invest in similar infrastructure projects and initiatives to further enhance the quality of education in the state, and called for collaborating with local stakeholders, community partners, and educational experts in identifying future needs and designing sustainable solutions for continuous improvement.
In his remark, the district head of Doho Alhaji Umar Mohammed Magaji, appreciated the NEDC for the
successful completion of the project and the provision of essential materials, saying “this will have a positive impact on the educational landscape for not only Doho community but the entire Kwami LGA.”
He reiterated that the project will serve as a testament to shared vision of providing quality education to all students and lay the foundation for a brighter future.
It could be recall that, the NEDC has been executing such project and educational resources to some of the communities in all the 11 LGAs of Gombe State to enhance the educational experience and facilitate effective teaching practices.
