The Gombe Network of Civil Society on Monday called on government to prioritise the welfare and well-being of Nigerians.

This was contained in a press statement felicitating with Muslim ummah on the occasion of Eid el-Kabir, signed by the Chairman, Yusuf Ibrahim, which was obtained by our correspondent urging government to ensure policies are implemented with the best interest of citizens.

He said, “We call on the government at all levels to implement citizen-friendly policies that prioritize the welfare and well-being of all Nigerians. It is crucial that policies are designed and executed with the best interests of the people in mind, ensuring that every citizen has access to basic amenities, quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.”

While extending its heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim community on the joyous occasion of Sallah, Ibrahim added, “As we celebrate this significant event, we pray for peace, prosperity, and unity in Gombe State and our beloved nation, Nigeria. Sallah is a time for reflection, gratitude, and community. It reminds us of the values of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity. We encourage all citizens to embody these values in their daily lives and to work together towards building a harmonious and inclusive society.”

He disclosed that GONET remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a better life for the citizens of Gombe State and Nigeria, adding that it would continue to advocate for good governance, accountability, and sustainable development.

“Our dedication to supporting the voiceless and vulnerable communities remains unwavering, and we are committed to working collaboratively with government bodies, civil society organisations, and the private sector to achieve our shared goals.

“As we celebrate Sallah, let us also recommit ourselves to the collective effort of nation-building. Together, we can create a brighter and more prosperous future for all.

Once again, congratulations to the Muslim community on this joyous occasion. May this Sallah bring peace, joy, and blessings to every home,” he added.
