The Nigeria Labour Congress Gombe State chapter has notified government and the general public of indefinite strike.
According to a statement obtained by The PUNCH which was signed by the chapter’s secretary Ibrahim Fika, the notice was inline with the national office.
He disclosed that the strike was geared towards pressing its demands on reversion of electricity tariff and minimum wage being negotiated.
Fika said, “In response to this development, the Gombe State council of organised Labour during her SEC-in-session held Saturday, 1st June, 2024 has unanimously endorsed the directives of the national headquarters to join its counterparts in the nationwide strike starting Monday, June 3rd, 2024.”
“To demand the reversal of the electricity tariff hike and the resolution of the ongoing national minimum wage negotiations,” the statement partly added.
