The National Association of Political Science Students University of Lagos chapter has announced its fifth annual convention.
The convention with the theme Power play: Navigating the political chessboard’, is scheduled 26th -29th June, 2024 with no fewer than 1000 participants expected.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Eyikogbe Toluwalope, Project Coordinator; NAPPS Convention 5.0 which was made available to PERISCOPE NIGERIA on Saturday.

Toluwalope’s statement noted that confirmed speakers include Hakeem Onasanya, Head of Startup at Lagos Innovates; Eyitayo Ogunmola, CEO of Utiva; and Enioluwa Adeoluwa, UN Ambassador, Olumide Oworu – Film maker, Dr. Adetola Salau, SA to the Governor of Kwara State and many more.
The press statement recalled that previous speakers have included notable figures such as Pastor Tunde Bakare, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Mr Funsho Doherty, Miss Titilope Gbademosi, and Mrs. Morayo Afolabi-Brown, while urging participants to anticipate rewarding time this year.
The statement partly read, “The National Association Of Political Science Students UNILAG chapter is thrilled to announce the fifth edition of its highly anticipated annual convention, scheduled to take place from June 26th to 29th, 2024.
“This year’s theme, ‘Power play: Navigating the political chessboard,’ promises to deliver insightful discussions and analyses from a diverse array of speakers across multiple sectors.
“Since its inception, the NAPSS Convention has consistently attracted over 1,000 students each year, along with esteemed guests and dignitaries from across Nigeria. It has become a pivotal event for addressing critical societal issues, political developments, and policies.”
While assuring that this year’s event aims to draw a diverse audience from various sectors including politics, economics, technology, and education, Toluwalope added “The convention will feature comprehensive analyses and diverse perspectives on the complexities of political power dynamics.
“The four-day event will host a range of activities, from cutting-edge discussions on politics and SDG workshops, to exploring and addressing various challenges in Nigeria and the trends shaping the continent.”
