Garba, a former member of the team currently represents the interest of his constituents in Filiya ward as Councillor.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Elisha was a member of the ninth National Assembly. He represented Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.

Speaking, Biliyaminu Samuel, member KSE media team said the empowerment was done in honour of Garba, to alleviate sufferings of the beneficiaries, vowing to support the Councillor succeed.

He said, “This empowerment was done in honour of our friend, colleague honourable Sunday Garba, councillor of Filiya ward this memorable day was a surprise to him. He didn’t even know what we were planning looking at the struggle, we thought it important to organise this in honour of him.”

While explaining how the team sourced for resources for the empowerment, Samuel added, “We sourced the fund from our own pocket, it was more of an individual contribution Honourable Garba didn’t even know of the plan.”

He added, “We want the whole world to know that Honourable Dr Simon Karu, former member House of Representatives has done well by raising youths that even when he is not in office they can go on with the mantle, by winning and showing leadership.

“Some may argue that they may not have benefitted from his representation but look even after his departure from office, his mentees are still excelling and empowering people. Someone once asked that so far the present occupier of the same office what has he done no one could point out anything. We appreciate our boss and his team including Layelmenson, royal families, our family members. For us as a media team instead of collecting from our former colleague, we will continue to support him to succeed.”

Commending the foresight of the donation, Nicholas Keki, who represented Honourable Karu Simon Elisha, at the ceremony hailed organisers for honouring one of their own.

Elisha said, “We are happy to be here at the empowerment for vulnerable persons in the honour of Sunday Garba, who is councillor for Filiya ward.  This is a welcome development especially at this time of celebration, it’s a good start.”

A beneficiary, Markus Maiwada, commended the team for alleviating their sufferings, saying that the money would solve a lot of their needs.

He said, “I’m very happy to be among the beneficiaries. I will like to appreciate the organisers for the donation. It will go a long way, I will not use it to cook alone but will be generous with others.”

Another beneficiary, Elizabeth Simon, commended the organisers, adding that “God will bless them for remembering the aged, and vulnerable people. The money given will do a lot.”

On his part, Councillor of Filiya ward, Sunday Garba described the event as first of it kind in the area, while appreciating the effort of his ex-team mates.

“Since the inception of democracy in Filiya ward, there is no programme that can be compared to this. The team (KSE media team) thought it wise to come down to the grassroot in order for them to feel the dividends of democracy by  showing love to the vulnerable people particularly the old men and women about 30 of them in order to support them with N5,000,” he added.

Our correspondent reports that the climax of the occasion was the appearance of member representing Pero Chonge in Gombe State House of Assembly; Barrister Gaius Golkos.

Golkos commended the organisers for considering the downtrodden saying that the empowerment was worthy of emulation.
