The presiding Judge, Justice Abdullahi Liman has ruled that the reappointment of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano is invalid.
The Judge has also declared that all activities conducted after the enactment of the Kano Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024 are considered invalid.
The court has approved the respondent’s request to pause the legal proceedings until the case is heard and decided at the Court of Appeal.
Additionally, the court has relocated the case to the Federal High Court.
