In an attempt to test its acceptance or otherwise in Edo Central Senatorial District, the All Progressives Congress (APC), put up a show of force in Uromi the administrative headquarters of Esan North East Local Government. Still trying to recover from the tsunami that locked down Benin City for the PDP, the handlers of the APC decided to raise the hopes of their disillusioned followers by organizing a rally in Uromi.
What was meant to encourage their followers, turned out to be a nightmare for the APC as less than 500 party faithful from across the Senatorial District gathered at the venue for the rally. The absence of the natives at the venues was disheartening. In order to avert the obvious backlash, the organizers quickly moved their scanty members to the busy and crowded Uromi market. There they decided to address the people who came to do their businesses in the market.
In their usual crafty way of deceiving themselves, their media hirelings took photographs and videos of the crowd in the market and started sharing all over the media claiming to have shut down Uromi. They refused to show the pictures and videos taken at the takeoff point and the match to the market. Less than 500 members of the party who came from all over the Senatorial District were present.
The snubbing of the APC by the great people of Uromi is a clear message concerning where they stand. It is a rejection of the party that has once attempted to dethrone and embarrass their monarch. A party that has brought so much death and suffering to the nation. It is a clear message that Uromi and by extension, Edo Central is for the PDP with Barr. Asue Ighodalo.
