At Berlin’s Olympiastadion, La Roja proved unstoppable, defeating England 2-1 in a classic and tensed final to become 2024 European Champions.
The Spanish team, undefeated in the tournament, ignited the game with a stunning goal just two minutes into the second half. Lamine Yamal’s superb assist found his strike partner Nico Williams, who fired a low shot to buttom corner of the net to set the tone for the Spanish party.
England’s Cole Palmer equalized, but Spain’s relentless pressure paid off. With five minutes remaining, Mikel Oyarzabal slammed home a low cross from Cucurella, securing Spain’s victory.
La Fuente’s men were unstoppable, outclassing England’s star-studded lineup. Lamine Yamal and Rodri took home the awards for Youngest Player and Player of the Tournament, respectively.
Spain’s all-round win leaves England’s 54-year wait for a major trophy ongoing, while La Roja celebrates their fourth European Championship title – a record they will hold onto for years.
