In an intensed first quarter final of the EURO’24, Mikel Merino’s last minutes header in extra-time gave Spain a 2-1 win over host Germany to reach semi-finals of the tournament at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.

Luis de la Fuente’s men had earlier in the game adsorbed all the pressure thrown at them by the fast breaking German team who had made life unbearable for the spainish team at early stage of the game before Dani Olmo break the dead lock after half time from a lovely assist from Lamin Yamal.

However, Wirtz broke the La Roja’s hope of finishing the game at full time with a late equalizer to drag the game to extra-time, but Mikel Moreino’s 119th minutes header was enough to send the spain to the semi-finals.
With the win, Spain reach the semi-finals as an unbeaten team in the tournaments and they will face either France or Portugal who will face each other later.
