After 30 years of General Sani Abacha’s Taraba State Secretariat Jalingo, Governor Agbu Kefas, has commenced the remodelling of the building since 1993.
The Nigerian Tribune who visited the Secretariat on Wednesday gathered that the project was in fulfilment of Kefas’ promise during a visit at the Secretariat.
Architect Ignatius Agbese told our correspondent that the contract which is awarded to ERADAPPA and ASSOCIATES LTD, is designed to be delivered in best quality and shape among all state Secretariats in Niger.

He disclosed that the remodeled Secretariat would feature a new three-story building with a lift and other modern facilities, to provide modern accommodation for civil servants and members of the state executive council.
Some of the civil servants who spoke to our correspondent during the visit, commended Governor Kefas for his commitment in investing in public infrastructure.
Mr Tanko Ayuba, Sarah Musa and John Adi both expressed that the project if completed, would be a moral booster for civil servants to do the best required of them as the Secretariat would provide conducive working environment for civil servants.
A Public Affairs Analyst and Journalist, Mr Justin Tyopuusu, also said the remodeling of the General Sani Abacha State Secretariat Jalingo among other public infrastructure being undertaken by the governor, was not just an upgrade of public infrastructure in the state but a symbol of a brighter future for Taraba.
“Today, anybody that comes to Taraba will attest that there is a leader in Taraba who shares a vision for a greater Taraba.
“The governor is marketing Taraba to the world and soon, people will start seeing the benefits of his investment. These projects will send messages to investors and friends of Taraba that now Taraba is ready for business,” Tyopuusu said.
