…Okpebholo is a sharp embarrasing contrast of Ighodalo
As a citizen of Edo State, I have watched and followed Senator Monday Okpebholo’s campaigns and I have been able to juxtapose him with those of Dr Asue Ighodalo. These are my findings:
The All Progressive Congress Candidate, APC, of Edo State gave their ticket to someone who’s qualities are unfortunate. Okpehbolo lacks certain qualities which an average Edo State citizens ought to possess, and it is more awkward that he is running for the office of the governor of the state. He has no class, no credibility, no warmth, no finesse, no charm, no wit, no certainty, no honour, no truth, no compassion, no wisdom, no truth, no humility, no self-awareness, no sensitivity, no connections, no leadership traits, no humility and no grace. All these qualities that Okpebholo lacks, funny enough, Dr Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for the September 21st election is abundantly blessed. To me, these Okpbebholo’s limitations are embarrassing.
An average Edo State citizen likes to be humorous, is intelligent, and likes a good laugh. For Okpebholo, he might be laughable, but he has never in this campaigns said anything that can lead to a good laugh. What he does from one stage to the other is to pile one gaffe upon others. You cannot help laughing at his obvious limitations. He has never said anything witty or faintly amusing. Not ones in all his few engagements I have followed keenly. This is quiet embarrassing to the sensibility of an Edo Citizens that are filled with humour, jokes and wit. In the old days, we even have court jesters.
Okpebholo does not even know what a joke is. To him what a joke is a crass comment like ‘no animals in museums, I will employ Esans nothing will happen, Akoko-Edo is 15 minutes drive from Esan…’ and a list of embarrassing moments that are skit makers delights.
Okphebolo is a petty ethnic champion with petty prejudices against other tribes in Edo State, and a knee-jerk self-centered unaware individual who is being pushed by several godfathers looking for our commonwealth source. He talks in crude witless insults in a bid to campaign. He is a troll, and like all trolls, he is never funny to me.
In Okpebholo, there is no underlying strength. No nuance, depth or complexity..he is all shallow surface. His mind is a simple box-like algorithm. You dont need keen eyes for details to spot more and more flaws as he speaks.
This is not the kind of humanity we are going to elect in September when we have the spotless Dr Asue Ighodalo that ticks all the boxes when it comes to who should be elected to become the next governor of Edo State.
