…. passes vote of confidence in Governor Yahaya
Following the judgement of the Court of Appeal in suit number CA/ABJ/778/2023 Abuja, between All Progressives Congress and Senator representing Gombe Central, Danjuma Goje, the state chapter has proceeded on appeal.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Gombe chapter’s Publicity Secretary Moses Kyari, on Saturday.
He disclosed that the resolve to appeal the case was hinged on APC Gombe State Executive Committee meeting, convened to deliberate the recent judgement.
Our correspondent reports that in 2023 the ward executives in Kashere led by its Chairman Tanimu Abdullahi, expelled Goje for alleged anti-party activities.
However, on Tuesday the appellate court, in a judgement delivered by Justices Abba B. Mohammed, E.O. Abang and P.C. Obiora, set aside the judgement of a Federal High Court, which restrained Goje from parading as a member of the APC. It also awarded N200,000 against Gombe APC.
Kyari’s statement partly read, “The State Executive Committee instructed its legal team to appeal against the judgement of the court of Appeal delivered on 14th August, 2024.
“The State Executive Committee implore all party supporters to remain calm and law abiding.”
The statement also passed vote of confidence in the state governor, adding “Furthermore, the State Executive Committee in its sitting of today 16th August, 2024 passed a vote of confidence on the purposeful leadership of His Excellency Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (DanMajen Gombe) the Governor of Gombe State.”
