The Gombe State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has congratulated Professor Umaru Pate, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere, for emerging the pioneer President of Society of Nigeria Broadcasters (SNB).
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Pate emerged at the President at the National Conference/Induction held in Abuja.
According to a press statement signed by NUJ Gombe Council Chairman Saidu Malala, and the Secretary Danjuma Kala, members in the state are not surprised following Pate’s overwhelming impact to journalism.
The statement partly read, “We are not surprised with the outcome of the election considering the vast experience, National /International recognitions and professional expertise of Prof Umaru A Pate in the area of Communication and the Broadcast media.
“This is indeed a worthy feet for an icon in the media industry whom we are always proud of in Africa and the world at large.
“We therefore, join other well meaning Nigerians particularly in the media by congratulating Prof Umaru A Pate for attaining this feet and wish him successful and purposeful leadership of the society for the development of the broadcast media industry in the country.”
