…as deputy governor reiterates Governor Yahaya’s commitment to industrialisation

The Gombe State Government has reiterated it readiness to make Gombe a business hub through the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, Dadinkowa.

This was asserted by the state Deputy governor Dr Manasseh Daniel Jatau via a telephone call from Abuja to address representatives of some companies including the Premier Seeds, producers of quality seeds and other Agro Allied products and that of Justicia Consult, a boned wire house and transportation firm as well as representatives from the Mercy Corps being a development organisation who came to indicate their interest of establishing their companies at the park.

He expressed confidence that the park is conducive enough to accommodate all kinds of businesses, assuring them that government is ready to give them the necessary encouragement for their businesses to thrive.

In a remark, the state commissioner for Trade, Industry and Tourism Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad Aliyu, who received the visiting team on behalf of the state government, expressed delight that the dreams of the present administration on Industrialising Gombe State has started yielding results.

He told the two companies that Gombe is an agrarian state that is located at the heart of the North-East sub-region with abundant skilled and unskilled labour, saying that he is optimistic that investing in the park will enhance the revenue base and provide opportunities for the Gombe teaming youth to be employed and have a means of livelihoods.

Aliyu said the Premium Seeds is known for it doggedness in producing quality seeds and enhancing agribusiness activities in the country and acknowledged the fact that by establishing it’s company in Gombe, the people will have easy access to quality seeds and other farm inputs to guarantee food security.

He also identified transportation as a critical aspect of industrialization, especially for the movement of raw materials and products to the markets within and outside the state.

He told Justicia Consult, a bondwire house and transportation firm that apart from the adequate parking lots, Gombe has the approval of inland container depot and that the state will partner with the firm to develop it for effective industrialisation.
Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad also appreciated the Mercy Corps for it’s resilience in ensuring the development of various sectors of Gombe state through the years and pledged the continues support of governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration at all the time.

Earlier in their presentations, the representative of Premium Seeds Dr Ibitoye Oyewale and that of Justicia Consult Alhaji Hassan Bello applauded governor Inuwa Yahaya’s vision and mission by coming up with the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, noting that an industrialised society gives better living condition for it’s people.

The company representatives said they have visited the park and are satisfied with the location, the internal roads, security and other facilities at the park.

According to Dr Oyewale, the Premier Seeds is and indigenous company with thirty years of existence in Kaduna and Ibadan, stating however, that the company desires to decentralise its processing and production, hence it’s coming to Gombe to establish the company at the Buhari Industrial Park.

He also said investing in Gombe will add value to the economy of the state and further project good image of the state.

Similarly, Alhaji Hassan Bello of Justicia Consult , said in partnership with Gombe government, the company intends to bring out a bonded terminal for export and import services, adding that this will also ease transactional costs, such as duty charges in terms of imports and exports of goods at the sea ports.

Also in a remark, Mr Kelvin Alufe of the Mercy Corps appreciated the Gombe state government for giving the organisation the opportunity to take part in developing the state and reiterated unflinching commitment to ensuring the growth and development of every sector of the state.

Mr Alufe used the medium to solicit for the extension of mercy corps’ activities, as the project is about rounding off in the state.

Those present at the meeting were the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Budget and Economic Planning Alhaji Ibrahim Jalo Ali, the interim Chairman of Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park Alhaji Bashir Nuhu, representatives from Gombe State Geographical Information System (GOGIS) and the state Focal Director Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ), Madam Shiphra Poloma among others.
