President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new Directors-General for the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Services (DSS).
Tinubu Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed as the new Director-General of the NIA and Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, as the new Director-General of the DSS.
Special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale announced the appointment in a statement on Monday.
The new appointments came came after the resignation of the previous NIA and DSS chiefs.
….Mohammed’s trajectory to the top
Mohammed got to the height of the career in foreign service since he joined NIA in 1995. He served in various roles, including Director until his subsequent appointment as the head of the Nigerian mission to Libya. The 1990 graduate of Bayero University, Kano, served in North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, and in State House, Abuja.
….. Ajayi move to the top of the secret Police
The DSS Director-General, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, rose through the ranks to get to the current post of Assistant Director-General of the Service.
According to the DSS, Ajayi is a versatile intelligence officer.
He entered the service in 1990 as a cadet officer.
“the new DG has received several trainings in different areas of management, security leadership, critical training, human resources, among others from within and outside the country,” the statement partly read.
He held many command positions in the State Director of Security in Rivers, Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa and Kogi states.
The statement described him as diligent, resilient, urbane, proactive and analytical officer.
