A shocking incident has unfolded in Ilorin, Kwara State, where a 21-year-old student, Mojisola Awesu, was found dead at a refuse dump. Awesu, a student of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, had gone missing after being contracted by her friend to act as a girlfriend for a private university student at a party for N15,000.
According to the Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, Awesu’s body was discovered on August 12 at the Aleniboro area of Ilorin. Her roommate, Blessing, reported her missing on August 13, revealing that Awesu had received a phone call from Timileyin, who introduced her to Adebayo Happiness, a student of Summit University.
Happiness allegedly invited Awesu to a night party, asking her to pretend to be his girlfriend for N15,000. However, upon arrival, Awesu felt uncomfortable and realized there was no party. Her phone was subsequently switched off, and all attempts to reach her were unsuccessful.
The police have arrested suspects in connection with the incident and are currently investigating. This tragic event has raised concerns about safety and exploitation, highlighting the need for increased awareness and vigilance.
