The Gombe Network of Civil Society on Sunday disclosed that no fewer than N230,000 and 750 pairs of clothes were realised from its appeal to the public on the support for Maiduguri flood victims.

Recall that following the infrastructural decay at Alau dam, Maiduguri was ravaged by flood displacing residents, and rendering others homeless.
The palace of the Shehu of Borno, Nigeria Correctional Service Maiduguri medium custodial centre amongst others were not spared from the colossal damage caused by the flood.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the flood devastation is estimated to worth billions of naira, making philanthropists, politically exposed persons to donate billions of naira.

GONET had made appeal through posts, to make it own difference.
Confirming this in a terse message sent by the Chairman of GONET, who doubles as Team Lead Advocacy Centre for Development; Ibrahim Yusuf, showed the the group’s support.
Yusuf wrote, “Our little contribution to the good people of Maiduguri from the Gombe Network of Civil Society and cash donation of N230,000 and 750 pairs of clothes.”
