The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has announced the promotion of Dr. Ibrahim Jimoh and Dr. Maryam Ibrahim to the rank of Professor, effective immediately.
This recognition honours their outstanding contributions to their fields in the Department of Mass Communication, their dedication to academic excellence, and their impact on students.
Dr. Ibrahim Jimoh, a prominent figure in the Faculty of Social Sciences, has made significant achievements in Communication, including publishing journals and writing extensively on media studies. His research has garnered national and international attention, and his commitment to mentoring young communicators is noteworthy.
Dr. Maryam Ibrahim, a renowned scholar in the Faculty of Social Sciences, has specialised in public relations and communication fields. Her groundbreaking research on public relations development in African contexts has shaped policies and communication patterns at local and national levels.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala, congratulated the newly promoted professors, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence and the university’s mission. Colleagues and students have expressed joy and pride in their achievements, describing them as brilliant academics and mentors.
As a student of Mass Communication, I am thrilled to see my lecturers, Professors Ibrahim Jimoh and Maryam Ibrahim, receive this well-deserved recognition. Congratulations!
