The New Nigeria Peoples Party on Monday inaugurated five-member caretaker committee to take over the affairs of the party for six months in Gombe, assuring members of inclusion.
Our correspondent reports that the inauguration is a sequel to the dissolution by the National Working Committee of the party in five states including Gombe State.

The five-member caretaker committee comprises Chairman; Abdullahi Mohammed, Sulaiman Hamza, Secretary; Abubakar Kalagar, Dauda Muhammad Bajoga and Ambrose Ismail.
Addressing members shortly after their inauguration, Mohammed called for unity and support.
He said, “It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I announce the successful inauguration of the new Caretaker Committee for the Gombe State Chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). This committee has been established to strengthen the party’s structures and foster inclusiveness as we prepare for future political engagements.
“The primary mandate of this committee includes ensuring the smooth administration of the party, mobilising support at the grassroots level, and engaging with all stakeholders to promote unity among party members. I am confident that this dedicated team will guide the NNPP in Gombe State toward progress and success.
“At this critical moment in our party’s history, I would like to make a special appeal to all NNPP members and supporters in Gombe State. We urge every faithful member of the party to give this committee the maximum support and cooperation needed to deliver on its mandate. Our engagement with stakeholders has already begun, and we are committed to uniting and carrying everyone along in our journey toward strengthening the party.”
While urging for peace, the caretaker committee chairman called for togetherness, “This is a time for all of us to come together, put aside differences, and work for the greater good of the NNPP. The success of this committee depends not just on its leadership, but on the collective efforts of every member of this great party. With your support, we can build a stronger and more inclusive NNPP that will serve the interests of the people of Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole,” Mohammed added.
Also, Coordinator Gombe Central Abubakar Kalagar, called on members to unite towards making the party stronger.
He added, “They should come to give their perspectives towards moving the party forward. This committee will be holding forth till six months after which Congress will be convened.”
On his part, 2023 NNPP House of Assembly candidate for Billiri West Constituency, Amatiga Yila, urged members to give the caretaker committee the needed support to succeed.
