Comrade Ikhuenbor Felix Igbinevbo on Thursday said he has withdrawn his support for the All Progressives Congress candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Igbinevbo, in an open letter obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA said his withdrawal from the Obedient Movement is with immediate effect.

According to him, his trajectory in the movement was geared towards ensuring development.

The letter partly read, “However, recent developments within the campaign have given me cause for concern. I have observed that some individuals who lacked genuine intentions for the development of Edo State have now joined the movement/campaign train with ulterior motives, causing division and straying from the principles of fairness, equity, and justice—principles that I hold dear.

“I cannot, in good conscience, continue to be part of any organisation that promotes division instead of unity. It is evident that the campaign’s current trajectory no longer aligns with my values.
Therefore, I am officially withdrawing from your campaign activities.”

Full-Text of Formal Withdrawal of Support from Your Campaign

Dear Senator Monday Okpebholo (Akpakomiza),

I write to formally withdraw my support and the Obidient Movement for Akpakomiza, which I have led over the past five months with a genuine concern for the development of Edo State.

My commitment to this movement was driven by a desire to see Edo State thrive.

However, recent developments within the campaign have given me cause for concern. I have observed that some individuals who lacked genuine intentions for the development of Edo State have now joined the movement/campaign train with ulterior motives, causing division and straying from the principles of fairness, equity, and justice—principles that I hold dear.

I cannot, in good conscience, continue to be part of any organisation that promotes division instead of unity. It is evident that the campaign’s current trajectory no longer aligns with my values.
Therefore, I am officially withdrawing from your campaign activities.

My decision is also influenced by the inconsistencies I have observed in the words and actions of those managing your campaign. A man’s word should be his bond, yet this has not been the case in my five months of close collaboration with you and your team. While I still respect you as an individual and believe you are a good man, I must acknowledge that certain essential elements required for the effective governance of Edo State are currently lacking within your campaign and the leadership of the APC at both the national and state levels.

I also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and deeply appreciate my senior brother and mentor, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as well as my friends from the APC family—Hon. Barr. Washington Osifo, Comrade Austin Imafidon, Hon. Victor Edoror, Hon. Barr. Paul Ohonbamu, Ambassador Johnson Iyamu, Mr. Eddie Obakpe, Mr. Ehi Fred Oyabure, and many others. Your show of love and confidence in me during this period has been truly humbling, and I remain grateful for your unwavering support.

I apologise to my supporters and the patrons and members of Obidient Patriots for any pain or embarrassment my previous decisions may have caused. My initial support was based on the information available to me at the time, but my experiences over the past months have led me to reevaluate my position. It is important to acknowledge our mistakes and dare to make corrections.

Moving forward, I will inform my supporters of my next steps to ensure the best interests of Edo State and its citizens.

Thank you, and God bless you.

EDO DESERVES BETTER!

Yours Faithfully,

Comrade Ikhuenbor Felix Igbinevbo
(Mr. FIGO)
