Police Community Relations Committee,
Coalition of Northern Group, Youth Association of Nigeria, and other civil society organisations have refuted plans to hold protest in Gombe, stressing that instead of demonstration they have reasons to celebrate the country’s 64th independence and 28th anniversary of the Gombe creation.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the last #EndBadGovernanceProtest caused destruction of property estimated in millions of naira.
Speaking on Monday during a press briefing State chairman of PCRC; Mohammed Ubale, said they have reasons to count the blessings of the state, urging those with such plans to desist.

He said, “Gombe State has witnessed dividends of democracy. It’s a call to celebrate. We have no reason to come out for anything beyond celebration. This organisation unanimously sat to come out with a stand that we are going to celebrate without any rancor, without bringing any problem to Gombe State.”
While emphasising the reason for refusing to protest, Ubale added, “By statistics we know Gombe State is ranked among states that have least crime and we are proud of that. To any group with grievances, you can channel them through the most appropriate way.”
