Gombe Police Command on Friday paraded no fewer than nine suspects over armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and possession of stolen items including 26 mobile phones.
Parading the suspects, Police Public Relations Officer ASP Buhari Abdullahi, said Mohammed Jami’u aged 28 years of Bolari Quarters; Ibrahim Isah alias maters 25 years of Bolari Quarters;
Al’amin Adamu alias Dan Madam aged 22 years of Tudun wada; Shamsudden mohammed alias Don aged 20 .years; Usman yahaya alias imamu aged 20 years were nabbed while five other suspects are at large.
He disclosed that based on an information received through a good samaritan of Ladunakasha quarters via Billiri LGA noted that unknown persons numbering about eight, armed themselves with cutlasses went and attacked individuals in the Nigerian Christain Fellowship Copper Lodge and some houses at Awai, Golkos, Bakin kasuwa and Ladukansha quarters in Billiri LGA respectively, and robbed them their valuables.
“On the receipt of the information a well coordinated night operations was swiftly formed by the divisional police officer CSP Sanda Umar, and swung in to action, drafted to the scene and cordoned the area/gullies, in the process the above mentioned suspects were arrested in connection to the alleged crime.
“Exhibits recovered includes; two laptops, 20 mobile phones, three power banks, torch light, one rechargeable hand fan, four pairs of women sandals, five ATM cards and sum of 224,700.00, one (1) charm and three (3) cutlasses.”
Abdullahi, disclosed that during the course of investigation the suspects confessed to the alleged offence, adding that the suspects further stated and revealed that they were also reponsible for the robbery case that took place at PZ commercial area in Gombe LGA, Gombe State, “in the house of one Hon. Mohammed Magaji Gettado, where they forcefully robbed them the following items; six GSM phones of different products, cash sum of N380,000, and two hundred riyal, FCMB ATM card which they withdrew the cash sum of N538,000.
Also, Abdullahi paraded Ibraim musa, aged 18 years; Husseini Gambo, aged 20 years and Abubakar Nasir aged 23 years all of Malam-inna quarters, Gombe LGA of Gombe State.
The Police Public Relations Officer disclosed that following formal complaint received through one Abubakar Shuaibu of Lafiyawon Malam-inna quarters, that unknown persons numbering about three entered into his house and stole his Suzuki Haojue motorcycle red in colour with reg no. APP 845 valued at N200,000.
“On receipt of the complaint Police detectives from Gombe Division immediately swung into action, and drafted to the scene where they arrested the suspects in connection to the alleged case. When interrogated the said suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for prosecution. Following exhibits were recovered; Suzuki Haojou motorcycle and another UD Haojue motorcycle also recovered,” Abdullahi added.
