All Progressives Congress youths in Akwa Ibom State have made a passionate plea to Godswill Akpabio, urging him to intervene and save them from the brink of starvation.
In an open letter addressed to the Nigerian Senate President, Akpabio, the youths nostalgically recalled his tenure as governor, contrasting it with the current harsh realities under Governor Umo Eno’s administration since 2023.
They described life in the state as “nightmarish,” with poverty, hunger, and insecurity becoming the norm.
The letter which was jointly signed by Inyang Aaron and Chief Sylvester Martins, lamented the recent demolition of shanties by the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), which they claimed has pushed more Akwa Ibomites into poverty.
They also accused the governor of making “audio policies” that have failed to deliver tangible benefits, and criticized his “audio bulk food purchase scheme” for not yielding any results.
The youths begged Akpabio to intervene, calling on him to convene a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss ways to save the state from further suffering.
However, the APC youths by prays for or God’s protection and guidance upon Akpabio as he considers their appeal.
