Adamawa State Auditor General, Alhaji Usman Ahmed, has organised training on public sector auditing in an effort to enhance proficiency.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Ahmed, who flagged off the training exercise, noted that the workshop would further acquaint the audit staff in their various disciplines and is in line with global best practices on financial discipline.
The five-day workshop is themed contemporary approach and practical applications to public sector auditing.
Speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Edgar Amos-Sunday, described the workshop as timely and appropriate going by the dynamism of the present society.
Amos-Sunday, noted that the workshop would teach the audit staff of prudent management of resources to enable government provide social services and infrastructural development in Adamawa State, just as he called on participants to put to good use the takeaways from the five day training.
According to statistics released by the Central Bank of Nigeria on 8th August 2024, Adamawa is the first state that submitted its audit report across the thirty six states of the federation.
