As the World commemorates International Day of the Girl, Vice Chairperson of Nigerian Bar Association Gombe Branch; Barrister Mwalin Abdu, has called on girls to speak out against violence.
She made this disclosure on Friday in a chat with our correspondent in Gombe, urging the girl-child to rise above barriers.

According to her, “Every girl has the power to change the world with education, confidence, and opportunity, she can accomplish anything.”
Speaking further Abdu added, “As we commemorate this day, it is important to acknowledge the barriers that many girls face in our society. From discrimination based on gender to limited access to education, healthcare, and opportunities, these challenges can sometimes seem overwhelming.”
Abdu disclosed that the day should serve as reminder to girls that they are strong, resilient, and capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes their way.
“Your potential knows no bounds, your dreams are valid and worth pursuing.Believe in yourself, support one another, and never be afraid to speak up for what you believe in. Together, we can break down barriers, defy expectations, and create a brighter tomorrow for all girls,” she added.
