The National Directorate of Employment has announced plans to engage 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria, out of which Gombe has 1,791 slots.
Disclosing this on Tuesday in Gombe in a chat with our correspondent, Director-General NDE Silas Agara, said the opportunity is under the renewed hope mass employment initiative.
Agara who was represented by the State Coordinator Asmau Mawa, explained that the Directorate would provide vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills training in the public works using 30 different skill sets.
According to the DG, the online application commenced since October 21 and would end by 31st October, 2024 adding that the age bracket is from 18-55 years.
Agara said, “In line with the spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has concluded plans to engage 93,731 unskilled and unemployed persons across Nigeria, with Gombe providing 1,791.
“Under the Renewed Hope Mass Employment Initiative, the Directorate will provide vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial alls training with complementing transient job opportunities in the public works sector using over 30 different skill sets.”
While urging the beneficiaries to show dedication, the DG added “This job creation initiative of the NDE finds effective expression in and of the eight priority areas of the Renewed Hope Agenda Similarly, start-up capital, equipment and working tools will be provided for deserving participants at the end of the training while others will be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans to commence medium or large scale businesses.”
