I love Karma because It is a leveller, it spares no one, it is a boomerang and reminds us about our deeds of yesterday. Karma is like a rubber band, when stretched too far, it returns and smacks you in the face. No wonder, Abhishek Shukla, described Karma as a balance sheet of life which debits and credits our deeds.
Anyone who has been diving into the trends of political developments in Rivers State will know that Karma does not sleep. The Former Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, never knew that Karma moves around with records of our yesterday. When he was the Governor of Rivers State, he failed to realise that there is one strong man who records the drama of men in the theater of life, he is called KARMA. At a point, Wike became the microcosm of the fallen standard of Nigeriran politics creating delusional deflection of power and influence. He became the Idi Amin Dada of Rivers State and Emperor Jean Bedel Bokassa of Central African Republic. He displayed perpetual influence that strangulated every oppositional and disenting voices including the federal might. He was talking like the biblical King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and Emperor Maximinus Thrax of the early Roman Empire. He dissipated every other operational forces in Rivers State like the proverbial Headmaster who reigns with enormous influence and power during the olden days elementary school.
He chased away the former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, humiliated Dr Peter Odili, disbanded Former Governor Celestine Omehia and warned him not to make “pin”. With chimerical effrontery, mercurial audacity and barefaced temerity, he turned Traditional Rulers in Rivers state to his “houseboys”. He turned Rivers state into a theater of comedy and Ragamuffian exuberance, behaving like someone who lost his dynamic building block and moral dignity and character conduct, making everyone to mock him and use him as a topic for riddles and jokes. He was Singlehandedly dictating the dynamics of Rivers Politics. He put everyone in power in Rivers State including Governor Sim FUBARA with the calculation of building politcal empire in River State for himself. When he was recklessly using his power and influence, he never knew that Karma was busy watching and recording waiting for a day like this.
One thing very sacrosanct is that, no one can deceive God, no matter how smart you may think you are. That is why he is called Omniscient, he knows the beginning of every situation, even before the beginning begins.
Nyesom Wike never knew that one day Karma will knock on his door. And when Karma knocks, he cannot escape the hammer of Karma. No wonder, when Apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians about Karma, he said “Be not deceived;God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall reap”. Good or bad, each of everyone of us must reap the fruit of our deeds, for there is no indulgence in karma. Had it been that Wike knew that one day Karma will be knocking at his door looking for whom to knock down in judgment, I think he would have been mindful of his actions. Today, power has changed hand. All he did against others have turned back to hunt him. That’s why I love Karma. He can’t escape it because whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall reap.
For Wike to escape the judgement of karma and the wrath of “ofo na ogu”, let him seek for forgiveness from God and make peace with FUBARA.
