Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, has said that Bola Tinubu is still on a two-week vacation and that he is not confined to the UK during his break and can travel wherever he chooses.

Onanuga said this on his official X-handle.

Tinubu, who had initially traveled to London on October 2, 2024, for his annual “working vacation,” is now in France for what has been described as “another significant engagement.

Tinubu’s close political ally and former placeholder running mate, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, revealed on Friday evening that the visit to France was for another “significant engagement “

However, this trip has drawn criticism, as the nation faces economic hardship under Tinubu’s administration. With growing concerns about rising inflation, fuel prices, and other challenges, many Nigerians have questioned the timing of his foreign trips amidst the ongoing economic struggles.

Reacting to this, Onanuga, however, said “President Tinubu is on leave for two weeks. He is not restricted to the UK. It is his private time. He can go to anywhere he so desires. He is still observing his leave.”
