The North-East Development Commission, on Thursday presented starter packs to trained youths in Taraba State.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that, 20 renewable energy, 10 fabrication efficient stove and 10 Charcoal briquette were presented to the beneficiaries.

Mr Bashir Hammajoda-Nguroje, Taraba state NEDC coordinator, while making the presentation in Jalingo, explained that the idea was a Federal Government deliberate move through the commission to tackle unemployment.
Nguroje noted the beneficiaries were selected base on merit, and trained to be safe reliance and employers of labour.
“After a five days training in different skills, the commission has seen it wise to donate the starter packs to the trained youths to be safe- reliance. The commission’s aim is to tackle the unemployment rate among youths and make them to be creators of jobs.
“Within the five days, we were able to trained them on renewable energy (Solar) charcoal briquette and energy efficient stove production. The decision to donate the items to them is to enable the trained persons become safe reliance and be provider of jobs to other youth.
“We encourage the beneficiaries to see the gesture as a life changing opportunity, make judicious use of the items to enable NEDC actualise her desire target to tackle unemployment
“I wish to state here that we will monitor the beneficiaries’ activities to ensure that the items are properly use for the purpose they are meant for,” the state coordinator noted.
Meanwhile, Mr Bashir Isa-Yerima and miss Hadiza Jauro Salihu, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended NEDC for the gesture.
They promised to make the commission proud in her desire for job creation among youths.
