Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, has assured residents of 17 northern states that electricity will be restored within five days, following the recent vandalism of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line.
Adelabu provided this assurance on Monday while briefing reporters at the State House after a meeting with chief Bola Tinubu.
The minister disclosed that repairs on the damaged transmission line are expected to be completed “within three to five days.”
He also noted that Tinubu has directed the National Security Adviser and security chiefs to provide the necessary security for repair teams, ensuring the safety of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) staff and contractors working on-site.
The minister stated, “So, I’m just appealing to our northern brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, to bear with us that very soon, light will be restored, and we must all collectively protect our national grid to avoid further vandalisation.”
