Just nine days before Ondo State gubernatorial election, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has signed a N96 billion supplementary budget into law.

Aiyedatiwa, after signing the budget into law on Tuesday in Akure, said it would help the state government to meet its financial commitments.

He said that the supplementary budget captures the payment of the new minimum wage of N73, 000 recently approved for workers and salaries of the newly recruited workers across various sectors.

Aiyedatiwa said the supplementary budget reflected the determination of his administration to cater for the welfare of workers and the overall development of the state.

He said, “The supplementary budget is necessary because of the time we are in and trends of what is happening in the state and country in general; the new minimum wage, subsidy removal to the recent recruitment of workers.’’

The governor also assented to the bill providing for the expansion of the board of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.

He said the new law would ensure inclusivity and better equitable representation from the mandate areas.

Aiyedatiwa also signed the amendment bill to the Ondo State House of Assembly Service Commission Law.
