Barring last minute change of plans, the 2023 governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Gombe State, Khamisu Mailantarki, is set to join the Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday.
This move comes after Mailantarki resigned from NNPP in July this year, but didn’t immediately join another party.
According to sources, Mailantarki, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, will officially declare his membership for the PDP in Gombe.
Our correspondent reports that Mailantarki had a strong showing in the last governorship election, where he came third behind Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Mohammed Jibrin Barde of PDP.
