That is according to an analysis published on Thursday by Media Control, a company that monitors book sales in Germany and also compiles Spiegel magazine’s bestseller list.
“No other book has had such a spectacular start this year,” said Ulrike Altig, managing director of Media Control. She stated that only a few days after its publication, Merkel’s work, which she wrote together with her long-time confidante Beate Baumann, had taken over the bestseller lists.
