A Point of Sale operator, Michael Achile, was robbed of N200,000 and a smartphone valued at N50,000 by two suspects including Abubakar Adamu and another simply identified as Musa, in Gombe metropolis.
According to ASP Buhari Abdullahi, Police Public Relations Officer, Gombe State Command, on Tuesday said Adamu and Musa came to buy cigarettes before inflicting injuries on Achile and robbing him of his valuables.
He said, “The suspects came to the victim’s shop, bought cigarettes, and later returned, attacked, and robbed him of his valuables. one smart phone valued N50,000, cash sum of N150,000.”
Abdullahi disclosed that on receipt of the complaint, team of policemen from Operation Hattara swung into action and visited scene saying “They rushed the victim to hospital for medical attention where he was treated and discharged.”
He noted that police were able to arrest Adamu, and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime. “The suspect has confessed to his crime and will soon be charged to court for prosecution. The police recovered a cutlass from the suspect, which was used during the robbery. The second suspect, Musa, is still at large,” he added.
